CoL web overview

We have 5 WordPress (WP) servers:
  1. The university’s instance on RackSpace, which hosts:
  2. InsideLaw
  3. LawMedia - not highly used yet, but is a production server. This is where most videos are being stored
  4. LawWP ( gsulaw.net/wp-admin )
  5. LawMaint SandBox server (on-campus only)
    • LawMaint is our “play” server - you can do anything you like to it. We use it to test out new plugins, scripts, etc.
  • University's instance runs on RackSpce VM, Apache and a remote (i.e. not localhost) MySQL
  • The CoL servers (# 2 through # 5 above) all run:
  • gsulaw.net - aliased onto lawwp.gsu.edu - Google Apps account - 100 logins - free - 3/10/15 - re. name.com - DNS: *.gsulaw.net -> 131.96.183.42 - MX -> googlemail.com
LawProxy

We use LawProxy to allow access to subscription databases. The system runs EZProxy. Currently have an Ubuntu 12.04 with nginx and EZProxy version 5.7.44 -> moving to a new server on Ubuntu 14.04 and EZProxy v.6. A custom PHP script displays/links the databases generates the EZProxy config / templates. (move to WP?) Also needs the authentication fixed from the temporary MyLaw patch.

Old servers that we are working to retire:

The old video server, hollywood.gsu.edu has been retired and we have hundreds of videos from that server that are being migrated to LawMedia

  • www.e-court-filing.org - Todd Vincent 404-822-4668 - Still seems associated w/GSU - I contacted him 09/23/2005 re: site fwd (was: e-ct-file.gsu.edu) to stop.
