Students will work closely with and under the direct supervision of Judge Green's Staff Attorney and will assist the Court in its work related to pending criminal, civil, and domestic cases.
Students will engage in a wide range of activities typical to the work of a judicial law clerk. Such activities include: 1) performing legal research and drafting memoranda and Orders of the Court; 2) summarizing and analyzing pending cases; and 3) observing Court proceedings (calendars, hearings, bench trials, jury trials, and status conferences.
Proficiency in Lexis and/or Westlaw legal research platforms
Superior legal analysis, writing, and communication skills
A strong work ethic and a demonstrated interest in working in a judicial setting
A positive attitude and the ability to work well with others as part of a team
Access to a laptop computer that can be brought to the externship site is required.
