The Olmstead Disability Rights Clinic is yearlong clinical course taught in partnership with the Atlanta Legal Aid Society’s Disability Integration Project. Students have the opportunity to represent children and adults with disabilities who are seeking the supports they need to live full lives in the community. This can include advocacy in administrative hearings, special education cases, and assisting with federal litigation strategy.
Students average 8 hours a week of client representation and advocacy. Office hours will take place at the Decatur office of the Atlanta Legal Aid Society. Class meets on Thursdays from 3:30-5:30 at the law school. The course is a full academic year clinic worth three credit hours each semester. It is pass/fail. Students must enroll in both the fall and spring semesters.
