Tahirih Justice Center Training for Interpreters and Translators

Next month, Tahirih Atlanta will host a training for multilingual graduate students interested in earning pro bono hours by volunteering as interpreters and translators. Tahirih provides holistic legal representation and accompanying social services to immigrant women and girls. English is not the main language for many of their service seekers.

Tahirih's training is open to multi-lingual students interested in volunteering, either remotely or in person, on a variety of calls and tasks. GSU and Emory Law students and GSU graduate students from other departments are welcome to attend.

Volunteer Interpretation Training FEBRUARY 13, 2019 • 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. GSU, COLLEGE OF LAW, ROOM 241 85 PARK PLACE NE, ATLANTA, GA 30303 Are you a multilingual graduate or law student interested in earning community service or pro bono hours? Are you passionate about serving the Atlanta community? Then join the Tahirih Justice Center for a training on how to provide in-person and/or remote interpretation and translation assistance to immigrant women and girls seeking immigration relief. Tahirih Atlanta’s Executive Director and former clinical law professor, Shana Tabak, will serve as our trainer. Volunteers are encouraged to commit to at least five hours of service per semester with Tahirih. All who are interested in learning more are welcome to join.
