Did you know the University IS&T has an Instructional Design department that provides technology and software training to faculty, staff and students on campus?

Has Office 2010 thrown you for a loop? If you got a new laptop this year and find yourself hunting through Microsoft "ribbons" for the tools you need, consider taking advantage of some of the resources the University offers for you to learn more about new technologies and software.

The Exchange, located on the ground floor of Library South, offers a variety of workshops for faculty, staff and students to learn new programs including Microsoft Word, Excel and Access, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, and Final Cut Pro and ProTools. They also have a regular "Intro to Podcasting" workshop. Sign up as an individual or request a workshop for your class.

Maybe the design and editing applications I just mentioned piqued your interest? IS&T's Instructional Design department also maintains the Digital Aquarium in the Student Center. They have a number of workstations loaded with design software and color printers, and also rent equipment to students for school work (including video cameras, Flip cameras, lighting and audio equipment). They even have an audio recording booth for student use.

Maybe you don't need to record a hit song for your next Bankruptcy class, but now you know where to go if you ever think twice about learning a new application or taking one for a test drive.

And as always, if you're having trouble with some technology in a classroom or elsewhere in the College of Law, submit a ticket to the HelpDesk.
