Georgia State College of Law Adjunct Professor Randall Hughes is exploring uses of SecondLife for his Health Law Regulation course.

Did you know that Georgia State University has islands in SecondLife, a virtual world developed by Linden Labs?  This semester, Professor Randall Hughes is taking advantage of this technology resource offered by Georgia State by using SecondLife machinima as a teaching tool in his course.

Machinima, which are animations created using a virtual world such as SecondLife, were chosen to bring scenarios or fact patterns to life for problem-solving and discussion in the class.

Paula Christopher and James Poulakos from Georgia State's Office of Information Systems and Technology have created a series of virtual sets and props for the different scenes in the machinima, as well as the avatars.  Student actors from the GSU Players are providing the voices to bring the avatars to life in the machinima, which is currently in development.
