Georgia Supreme Court Hears Oral Arguments on Campus Feb. 20

The Supreme Court of Georgia will hold oral arguments in two cases on Wednesday, Feb. 20, in the Georgia State University Student Center.

Justices will hear arguments in two appeals from 10:30 a.m. until noon. The visit is in recognition of Georgia State University College of Law's 30th anniversary and the university's 100th anniversary.

"We're incredibly honored to host the Supreme Court as part of our 30th anniversary. We appreciate the justices taking the time to visit to our campus and hear arguments," said Steven J. Kaminshine, dean and professor of law. "This is an incredible opportunity for our students to witness firsthand how the state's highest court handles proceedings."

The Supreme Court justices will hear arguments in Mitchell v. Georgia, a murder case appeal, and Wellstar v. Jordan, a civil case appeal.

Those attending the proceedings should dress in proper business attire and must present a photo ID to enter the court.
