Professors Lisa R. Bliss and Sylvia B. Caley are being promoted to the rank of Associate Clinical Professor. They are also being awarded presumptively renewable long-term contracts under the law school's policies involving clinical faculty. These contracts are analogous to tenure in providing job security for clinical faculty. Bliss and Caley have also been promoted administratively to co-Directors of the HeLP Legal Services Clinic.
Professors Wendy F. Hensel and Leslie E. Wolf are being promoted to the rank of Professor. Wolf was simultaneously recommended for the award of tenure. Hensel had been awarded tenure previously.
In extending well-deserved congratulations to these faculty members, Dean Steve Kaminshine said, "We are incredibly fortunate to have such talented professors on our faculty. They all contribute enormously the law school's strong reputation for excellence in teaching, scholarship, and professional engagement."
"These faculty members represent a broad range of health law interests at the College of Law," said Professor Charity Scott, Director of the Center for Law, Health & Society. "They reflect nationally recognized depth of expertise and experience in the fields of health and social justice, public health law, law and medicine, bioethics, and disability law."
Kaminshine also thanked the law school's Promotion and Tenure Co-Chairs, Professors Andi Curcio and Anne Emanuel, for all of their hard work in coordinating this year's P&T process.
