Planned Giving Hosting Estate Planning Teleconference with CLE Credit

October 4, 2004

"IRAs and ESOP Charitable Solutions" will be the topic of a national teleconference for estate planners being hosted by the Georgia State Office of Planned Giving on October 28. The State Bar of Georgia approved the teleconference for 2.0 CLE hours. The conference is free except for a $10 pass through fee to State Bar for those seeking CLE credit.

According to the Federal Reserve, IRA and retirement plan assets have now returned to the peak 2000 levels of nearly $10 trillion. With the growth of qualified plans, many estates are 40%-70% IRA or retirement plans. Many commentators warn that this ticking time bomb could push many children into the top income tax brackets. Under current plans, thousands of surviving spouses will be depleting IRA's while paying greatly increased income taxes. The teleconference will teach advisors how to avoid this tax trap and provide more for family. The session will also offer solutions for stock options, qualified replacement property for ESOPs and stock bonus plans.

The teleconference will be held on Thursday, October 28, 2004 from 3:00 to 5:15 PM at Speaker's Auditorium in the Student Center at the corner of Courtland and Gilmer streets. Attendees are invited to arrive by 2:30 PM to enjoy refreshments and be seated for the broadcast. Seating is limited so make your reservations today.
