Service to the College of Law Award

Marlo Orlin Leach is the 2004 recipient of the Service to the College of Law Award. Marlo has found time to consistently engage in college-related, professional and community activities. She has served on the Graduate Leadership Council for a number of years, supported the development efforts of the college, conducted peer-to-peer fundraising phone calls, held an annual graduate lunch at her firm and found time to assist the college with its recruitment and career services programs.
Each year, the Graduate Leadership Council (G.L.C.), the governing body of the Graduate Association, seeks nominations for the "Service to the College of Law Award." This award will be presented to a College of Law graduate at the State Bar of Georgia Midyear Meeting Alumni Breakfast, which is held in January of each year. Law graduates are notified about the breakfast and the recepient by mail.
Previous law graduates to receive this award include the Honorable Peggy Harris Walker, Ms. Patricia Tate and Ms. Cathy Henson..
Nominations may come in the form of a letter and from any source. Graduates, faculty, students and others within the legal community are encouraged to submit nominations. CRITERIA AND NOMINATION PROCESS
Given to a graduate who has made outstanding contributions to the College of Law, defined by either time and/or financial resources. The recipient should demonstrate a continuing commitment to the successful growth and development of the College.
The nominee must be a graduate of Georgia State University College of Law.
Nominations will be reviewed by a selection committee composed of members of the G.L.C., a College of Law faculty member and a member of the Board of Visitors.
