College of Law 2004 Hooding Ceremony

May 28, 2004

All law students graduating: Summer 2003, Fall 2003 or the Spring 2004 commencements are also invited to participate in the 2004 Hooding Ceremony.

All participants must report to room 170 of the Urban Life Center for marshalling at 4:45 p.m., with your academic regalia. In room 170, Tricia Rackliffe, College of Law Registrar, will meet you and point out your position in the processional. After receiving these instructions, you will proceed to the Sports Arena for the official processional.

During the hooding ceremony and when your name is announced, you should proceed to the hooding station where selected members of the faculty will affix an academic hood to your regalia. The ceremony itself should last approximately 90 minutes. A reception with light hors d’oeuvres and beverages will immediately follow the ceremony outside on the Urban Life Plaza. In case of inclement weather, the reception will be held in the West Exhibit Area, 2nd floor of the Urban Life Center.

The Spring 2004 Commencement Ceremony for law graduates will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2004, 6:00 pm in the Sports Arena. Unlike the hooding ceremony the night before, there is limited seating. Guests will not be admitted to the Sports Arena without proper tickets. The graduation office will distribute four tickets to each participating student with a picture ID. For more information contact the graduation office at (404) 651-3387.
