Professor Landau Keynote Speaker at the 2005 meeting of the Danish Association of Entertainment and Media Lawyers
March 1, 2005
On April 9, Professor Landau, the Director of the College of Law’s Intellectual Property, Technology, and Media Law Program, will address the Danish Association of Entertainment and Media Lawyers at their annual meeting outside of Copenhagen. He will be speaking about differences between US law and EU law regarding motion pictures and artistic attribution. Professor Landau’s invitation was actually the result of a Georgia State University College of Law connection.
He was invited to speak by Malene Ehlers, the Head of Legal Affairs at Nordisk Films and Egmont Imagination, one of Scandinavia’s leading film companies. Ms. Ehlers, a Danish attorney with an LLM from Duke Law School lived in Atlanta and worked for COX Broadcasting in 1996. While in Atlanta, she took Professor Landau’s Copyright Law class at the College of Law. Shortly thereafter, she returned Denmark to become a successful lawyer for the Danish motion picture industry. Over the years, Ms. Ehlers has frequently called Professor Landau to chat about international copyright issues. This year, she decided to invite him to speak in person.
