COL Center for Law, Health & Society Hosts Women's Policy Group Legislative Wrap-Up Event

The Georgia State University College of Law’s Center for Law, Health & Society hosted the Women's Policy Group's (WPG) 2006 Legislative Wrap Up May 17 at the College.

Panelists at the Legislative Wrap-Up included Representative Pat Gardner, Atlanta; Representative Alisha Thomas Morgan, Cobb County; Representative Stephanie Stuckey-Benfield, Decatur; Representative Chuck Martin, Alpharetta; Representative Edward Lindsey, Fulton County; and Alan Essig, Georgia Budget and Policy Institute.

WPG's Legislative Counsel Janice Barrocas moderated the panel of legislators and advocates who discussed Immigrant Access to Health Services, the Advance Nurse Practice Act, PeachCare for ALL Kids, Child Support, the Time for Schools Act, and Budget Appropriations and Tax Exemptions.

Guests participated in a question-and-answer session following the panel discussion.

"The Center for Law, Health & Society advances the key role that law plays in promoting the health of individuals, families and communities," said Professor Charity Scott, the Center's Director. "The Center serves our community by providing an interdisciplinary and non-partisan forum for addressing critical health challenges in society."
