Governor Perdue Appoints COL Alum to Judicial Post
February 23, 2006
Governor Sonny Perdue recently announced the appointment of College of Law alumni Christopher Brasher (’91) to the Superior Court of the Atlanta Judicial Circuit. The vacancy was created by the resignation of Judge M. Gino Brogdon.
Brasher, 40, spent the past 10 years with the Georgia Department of Law, serving most recently as senior assistant attorney general. Previously, he served as assistant district attorney for the Alcovy Judicial Circuit.
"I am very gratified by this appointment and I'm looking forward to serving the citizens of Fulton County as a superior court judge,” Brasher commented. “My education at Georgia State's College of Law prepared me for my career, and I appreciate all of the support I have gotten from the University."
Brasher, a resident of Alpharetta, received his bachelor’s degree in political science from Furman University. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia. Brasher and his wife, Jennifer, have two children.
“The College of Law is very proud of Chris and his appointment to the Superior Court bench,” added Dean Steve Kaminshine. “His appointment is another example of the outstanding work our graduates are doing, and the contributions they are making as College of Law alums.”
