Professor Corneill Stephens
Corneill A. Stephens was selected by the student body of Georgia State University's College of Law as the 2006-2007 Professor of the Year.

“It is indeed an honor to receive this award,” commented Professor Stephens. “The students here at the College of Law are truly outstanding, and they bring out the best in all of us.”
Professor Stephens' teaching and research areas include Sales, Contracts, Debtor-Creditor Relations, Commercial Law, Secured Transactions, Commercial Paper, Civil Practice and Procedure, and Litigation. He came to the College of Law in 1985 after practicing with Troutman, Sanders, Lockerman & Ashmore's litigation department, where he specialized in corporate and commercial litigation.
From 1993-97, Professor Stephens served as Associate Dean at the College of Law. He received his B.A. degree from Claremont College and his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School. Professor Stephens has also sat as a Magistrate Court Judge and State Court Judge in DeKalb County. He is a program instructor and advisor for both the Georgia Law School Consortium Fellowship Program through the State Bar of Georgia and the Georgia Supreme Court, and for the Council on Legal Education Opportunity for the American Bar Association.
