The Center for Law, Health & Society and the Health Law Section of the State Bar have an exciting announcement! The Health Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia is again offering health law summer stipend for 1-2 students of up to $5000. You can read about last summer’s inaugural summer stipends here: https://clhs.law.gsu.edu/2018/08/01/state-bar-health-law-section-awards-summer-stipends/

The stipend is intended to support Georgia State University College of Law students who have demonstrated an interest in health law and a commitment to pursuing a career in health law in the State of Georgia, including law practice, research and/or policy development. This stipend supports the costs associated with an unpaid summer internship in a health law position with: (a) a federal government agency in Georgia or Washington DC, or an agency of the State of Georgia; (b) a nonprofit legal services organization in Georgia; (c) a nonprofit health care organization in Georgia; or (d) a public interest organization in Georgia.

The Health Law Summer Fellowship_Application_2019  is due by 5:00 pm on April 12, 2019 and should be sent to Stacie Kershner at lawandhealth@gsu.edu.  The application requires completion of the attached form, a personal statement, a resume, and an unofficial transcript. If you have already secured an unpaid position, please describe that in the application. If you have not yet secured a position, please describe your efforts in this regard. Note, externships will also be considered this year. Final decisions will be made by members of a committee of the Health Law Section of the State Bar.
